The Kangerluarsuk licence area in central West Greenland ground prospective for Sedex-type Pb-Zn deposits. Sedex-type mineralizations with high-grade zinc (up to 41 wt% Zn) have been found in the NW part of the Kangerluarsuk area while in the southern part, mineralizations have been found in two zones, and return values of 3.9 wt% Zn, 12.4 wt% Pb and 8.6 wt% Zn, 5.5 wt% Pb, respectively.

The licence area is situated in gentle terrain some 30km north of the Black Angel Mine at Maarmorilik, which had produced 11 million tons grading 13 wt% Zn and 4 wt% Pb at its closure in 1991.The Kangerluarsuk Fjord is situated about 50km north of the town of Uummannaq in Central West Greenland, and provides deep water access to the area for a minimum of four months per year. Uummannaq can be reached within one day’s travel by scheduled air traffic.
