Licence Awarded at Nuugaatsiap Timerlia (Karrat Fjord region)

Avannaa has been awarded a licence to explore for minerals at Nuugaatsiap Timerlia (licence nr. 2007/08). The licence is issued by the Government of Greenland through its licencing authority, the Bureau of Minerals and Petroleum. The licence area covers 450 square kilometers and is distributed in 5 subareas located in the Karrat Fjord region. The licence is valid for 5 years and gives Avannaa exclusive rights to explore for minerals but excludes hydrocarbons and radioactive materials. Avannaa’s primary target in the licence area is gold.
